A blockhead is usually a person with no street smarts; and is usually a do goody-gooder. Blockheads usually follow the rules in society and are conventional. They are very concrete and slow; hence the term "Blockhead".

He joins the Fire Department as a Firefighter and sees it as a form of status symbol to impress his girl and friends in his fake civilized life; when the reality is, most people can put out fires on their own, and the job actually requires very little skill.
