1: Attaining intoxication at a party without buying any liquor. Achieved by 'bumming' one or two shots from several of your friends.

  * e.g.,  ... Man, I thought that party was gonna suck because I had no booze, I got lucky and was able to patchwork the night.

1: n. one of an increasing number of people unable to find full-time employment, so who resort to taking many part-time jobs without benefits.

  * e.g.,  ... "Yeah I just got my master's degree but I'll probably still be a patchworker when I'm 30." 

 [ "Patchwork" ]

1: Slipshod, poorly-designed. Most often used to describe organizations.

  * e.g.,  ... Our patchwork trash committee has changed the weekly trash day three times in the past two months; those guys need to get their collective act together quickly. 

 [ "Patchwork" ]

1: Your favorite Dj/Producer. Does experimental electronic compositions with a pop edge.

  * e.g.,  ... Man Dj Patchwork doesn't ever play out and never promotes his album. How come people know who he is? 

 [ "Patchwork Plagiarism" ]

1: Plagiarism scandals involving “authors” stealing from multiple works and patching them together to take credit for a new and complete story.

  * e.g.,  ... Shey Stahl plagiarized several Twilight Fanfiction stories including Dusty and used patchwork plagiarism to write 'For the Summer' and probably all of her other books. 

 [ "Patchwork Boyfriend" ]

1: Piecing together a boyfriend by means of multiple partners. One gives it up on the reg, one actually spends money on you by taking you on dates, and one fills the everyday needs of hanging out or companionship. When combined, you have the perfect man. (In the ideal situation, the individual components don't know about the others). **This term can also be flipped and used to reference a piecemeal girlfriend.

  * e.g.,  ... Hey Mary, what did you get into last night? I tried calling you. John and I just chilled at the house for a while, then Kevin took me on a really nice lunch date. Oh, and I met up with Ben late night for a drink..we totally got it on again! Well, sounds to me like you hooked yourself up with one hell of a patchwork boyfriend! 

 [ "patchwork family" ]

1: A new family made up from the remnants of divorced families.

  * e.g.,  ... Those newly-weds make a nice patchwork family. He brought his two daughters into the marriage, and she has a son from her first husband.

2: Similar to the definition of a patchwork car. This term is used (in English) in German speaking countries.

 [ "patchwork car" ]

1: An automobile comprised of the parts of many different automobiles, generally crappy old beater parts from junk yards and such. They will often be different colors, such as a red body with a blue hood, white door and green bumper. Often has parts on it that still need to be fixed (such as broken tailights, missing mirrors, etc.) Operator of said vehicle is usually poor at driving, at best.

  * e.g.,  ... Me: Whoah, Meg check out that patchwork car! 

 [ "Yesterday's Patchwork" ]

1: Something that happened the day before you don't want to discuss. Usually used ironically.

  * e.g.,  ... Person 1: Hey, do you remember when you.......... 

 [ "patchwork pussy" ]

1: When you give yourself a Brazilian wax at home, but with poor execution, causing a patchwork of bald and hairy spots to cover the area.

  * e.g.,  ... I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a Brazilian wax on our 6 month anniversary but I tried to do it at home and ended up with a patchwork pussy.
