These shows feature "family values" where the mom is an alcoholic and the father is constantly arguing with the mom, the boy is a rebel or a male whore, the girl is a slut or is depressed and she confesses a secret to her boyfried or vice versa. I hate sappy (overly-emotional) shows like this.
