1: A ringer is an aspiring professional gamer. They can usually be found honing their skills by pwning noobs. They're always on the look out to fill in the last spot of a team or competition. A good ringer will often display the qualities of a grinder, putting an insane amount of time and effort in their game and grinding out every little advantage they can get. The term is believed to have originated from the early days of competitive Counter Strike, a well known first person shooter video game.
