2:  a large and stupid person, an oaf

1: Taken from the old Joe Palooka comic strip: a big boxer hero that helped fight the bad guys. The word palooka has now become somewhat of a negative term usually preceded by the word "big". Large man, clumsy man, oaf, fighter, bully, brawler. Somewhat of a slang term.

  * e.g.,  ... Get away from me ya big palooka. Stop acting like a big palooka. Go outside if ya wanna fight ya big palooka! Who do ya think ya are: Palooka Joe?

  * e.g.,  ...  that palooka wasn't too bright

1: Refers to an incompetent opponent in a sporting arena (usually boxing). Can also be used to refer to minnow cricket teams and other clumsy or useless beings.

  * e.g.,  ... "Bangladesh and Zimbabwe would battle to beat my local ski-boat club on a bad day. To hear players and coaches stating how well they played against these palookas is really pathetic."

1: A stupid, incompetent person.

  * e.g.,  ... Person 1: "I betcha that..."

1: Someone who acts urban savvy or street astute, but is really and obviously raw/like an urban rookie.

  * e.g.,  ... Several mainstream celebrities are palooKa artists. 

 [ "palooKa" ]

2: A "z" is added in plural form.

 [ "palooka trap" ]

1: something that makes you fuck up, usually a stupid small object in the way, such as a glass balancing on a table, or a skateboard on a staircase
