1: Movement or belief that supports the upcoming furlough and embraces all that it has to offer. Some of its wonderful offerings consist of but are not limited to, lots of time off if you are a federal employee and the joy of watching those people panic who thought life was a joke and spent every cent they made instead of saving some.

  * e.g.,  ... Person A – Boy this furlough is great. I am going golfing tomorrow, gonna day drink tomorrow and get sloppy drunk, and then be hungover the following day and do nothing except eat and scratch my balls. Person B – Yeah, this is the life bro. And how about those scumbag losers who are at the food kitchen. Hahaha. I bet they are happy they got the iPhone4, those 300 dollar shoes, and that new Mercedes! God bless furloughism!

1: A temporary layoff. Forced to be done by executives in order to satisfy a lowered budget.

  * e.g.,  ... The ECE department's faculty is having a furlough Friday and will not be available on that day.

1: A drinking day for all federal goverment employees!

  * e.g.,  ... Dude we just go furloughed, lets go to the bar!

1: Sitting on ones arse whilst getting paid to have a pokey wank to granny porn.

1: A cocktail consisting of gin, vodka, rum, two parts vermouth and topped up with ginger ale. Shaken with ice and drunk in a tumbler if possible or a mug.

1: Used as another word for ditching/cutting a class (usually in college)

1: It is synonym for laying-off.

1: Time spent at work doing absolutely nothing work related, to make up for the furlough day the company gave you to save money due to poor financial management.

1: The act of removing something unpleasant

  * e.g.,  ... "Man, I have this huge term paper about the economy due tomorrow. Furlough that shit."

1: With the downturn in the economy some companies are instituting a work furlough. Unpaid time off, with a guarantee to return to work. Most furloughs are 1-5 days off a month. Furlough envy is when someone is jealous of someone else's unpaid time off.

  * e.g.,  ... Dude, did you hear Jack's company is doing a 10 percent work furlough? Damn, that's fucking sweet. I've got a bitchin' case of furlough envy.
