1: Place given in marching competition. In a marching band competition a band is awarded this place when they have scored the highest overall in their respected division. This place is considered better than first and is the the most sought after position in all marching competitions.

  * e.g.,  ... The marching band did so well in their division today they beat out all the other bands and were awarded sweepstakes.

1: competition usually done at work or with freinds that usually coinicdes with a major sporting event. everyone pays and then picks a participant of said sporting event out of a hat (entrants usually written on paper and screwed up)and the winner usually receivng a alloted sum of money.

  * e.g.,  ... "who did you get in the World Cup Sweepstake"

1: A place where you have a chance to win prizes. kind of like gambling but not really.

  * e.g.,  ... mabe 1 - Hey nigga! did you see what i won at tha sweepstakes house? mabe 2 - no muthafukka! whachu win? mabe 1 - I won a muthafukkin house phone set! and it aint even stolen! mabe 2 - Damn! i was hoping you won a carton of Newport Menthols.

1: When a hooker from Newark airport wipes the jizz off her face with a losing scratcher ticket

1: A sweepstake on which well known gay celeb will die of AIDS

  * e.g.,  ... I won when Freddie Mercury came up 

 [ "Sweepstakes" ]

1: Refers to sexual (or romantic) attraction between people who seem unlikely to be compatible. For example, a republican and a democrat, or a pastor and a secular engineer. The reference alludes to the unlikely nature of such a match.

  * e.g.,  ... Walter really won the sweepstakes, dating that sweet germaphobe Sophie? Can you imagine! A garbage truck driver and a germaphobe!
