1: (Verb) Oftentimes the condition or state of being a person wishes to attain, and usually does whenever the sufficient amount of opiates are consumed. Successful attainment will include eyes closed and head titled slightly down. In its most extreme form this writer has seen a person practically folded in half while standing upright as if they were touching their toes.

  * e.g.,  ... Grant doesn't have a single pair of pants that do not have cigarette burns on the legs. Every time he gets on the nod he will light a cigarette, then he'll closes his eyes and he doesn't come to or snap out of it until the cigarette burns up and burns a hole in his pants.

1: military abbreviation for Night Optics Device. also known as Night vision goggles. can also be for night vision sights for sniper rifles. uses existing natural or IR light to illuminate an otherwise pitch-dark area.

  * e.g.,  ... F*ck its dark. NODs on!. *flares out of nowhere* Flares! Back out of your NODs!

1:  expression used to define someone under the influence of prescription painkillers.

1: "The Nods" is a state which every narcotic user (especially heavy narcotics, such as heroin) yearns for.

2: It is the state in which you drift in and out of conciousness for possibly several hours on end, and is associated with the state of "nirvana".

1: the nod is a head movement that one guy does in response to another mans chick as he walks by with her, which signifies approval; she is has maintained a level of hotness.

  * e.g.,  ... Ryan and Amanda walk by Jack and Jane. Jack will use the nod to signify that he would bone amanda, and Ryan, um...well, doesn't nod. Jane is apparently fugly.
