1: GTA-style game set in London. Different to the arcade-esque gameplay of GTA in that The Getaway aims to look like a film, or real-life situtation. The graphics look very realistic and there is almost nothing on screen during game-play. Unlike competitors (GTA, Driver, True Crime) The Getaway uses officially licensed cars throughout the streets of London.
* e.g., ... The first Getaway is about an ex-criminal, Mark Hammond, whose wife is shot dead and his son kidnapped. He is then blackmailed into doing the kidnapper's dirty work throughout the game. On the other side of the story is DC Frank Carter who is constantly working on bringing the kidnapper to justice.

2: The cooler aspect of this game is the fact that London has been flawlessly recreated on the PS2, enabling some people to drive to their house in the game (check out realgetawaytour.com). The game is very violent and contains a lot of swearing.
* e.g., ... The second game (Black Monday) uses a similar method of dividing the story. A bank-job by a bunch of opportunists goes awry and most of them are killed, prompting Eddie (a boxer) to go out on a personal mission to kill the guy responsible for their deaths. At the same time SO19 cop Ben Mitchell is always right behind Eddie, cleaning up the mess he makes, until they finally meet. This game has multiple endings depending on the way you complete certain missions.

1: A metaphor for a situation in which someone finally gets away from an unwanted partner. Someone who has found a rebound after a breakup, may have used that rebound as a Getaway car.
A Getaway Car is usually a vehicle that criminals use to get away after they commit a crime. To a person who wants to leave an unhappy relationship, any excuse and circumstance can be used as a getaway car, such as pregnancy from an ex, emotional unavailability, or supposed death of a family member.
American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift coined this version of the term on her 2017 song Getaway Car.
* e.g., ... “You really used your pregnancy from an ex as a Getaway Car to leave the person you’re currently seeing?”
“You cheated on your partner? That’s the perfect Getaway Car!!”

[ "Quick Getaway" ]
1: This term is used to describe a sexual act that involves one unsuspecting female and more than two males. The act begins with a guy and girl having sex in a very dark room with no vision. Once the first guy is done, he will excuse himself into the restroom and the next guy will enter without the girl ever knowing. Once again, when this guy takes care of buisness, he will then excuse himself and enter another participant or the first guy again. So the term Quick Getaway is exactly as it sounds. Commit the crime and get the hell out of there before the victim knows what happened.
* e.g., ... During high school the Quick Getaway was a well practiced activity.
