1: Dressed like your right out of a J.Crew or Banana Republic catalog. It differs slightly from 'J.Crew' or Preppy in that it's a phrase applied to a situation where the clothes are wearing the man rather than a particular lifestyle reflected in the clothes worn by the man. For example: a medical tech who usually wears blue hospital scrubs dressed in chinos and a button-down plaid shirt; all creases were crisp (right out of the package)...or...

  * e.g.,  ... Man, you look catalog, did you even take the price tag off those chinos?

2: A a slovenly overweight college kid raised by Vermont hippies and who's never worn a tie, dresses to meet his girlfriends parents.

1: adj. -- conspicuously outfitted in new mall-store clothing

  * e.g.,  ... My resident is dressed like he just went shopping at J. Crew. I told him he looked catalog. 

 [ "Catalog dating" ]

1: Another term for online dating. Swipe left, swipe right...

  * e.g.,  ... We met catalog dating. Ok cupid was our catalog site. 

 [ "Catalog Engineer" ]

1: Someone who reads catalogs of equipment -- high performance car parts, electronics or whatever -- and suddenly thinks he knows everything. These people are easy to spot -- they spend a great deal of money "improving" their cars, stereos or whatever. What they say sounds like hyperbolic ad copy and they won't let go of their beliefs, no matter how often someone proves them wrong.

  * e.g.,  ... Adam: Oh great, Ed's on a rant. He bought some gadget he found in a hot rod magazine for his car and claims it's doubled the power and his fuel economy. I looked at the thing and it's junk, just like all the other "performance parts" he bought in the last month. Eve: That's Ed, alright. A real "Catalog Engineer."

1: Quite literally, a catalog of thots

  * e.g.,  ... Guy 1: yoo where are the bitches in this town at?

1: When there are any combination of black, asian, and white people of mixed genders present at any location.

  * e.g.,  ... Guy 1: Look dude, it's an Indian chick, black chick, and an asian and white guy in that car.

2: Named after the pictures of diversity that colleges send to high school students.

  * e.g.,  ... Guy 2: It's like a college catalog in there. 

 [ "Catalog Commando" ]

1: An individual who purchases large quantities of firearms, camouflage, knives, body armor etc. that they have absolutely no practical use for. The typical catalog commando has either very limited or no military experience. They just dress that way because they believe it makes them look tough, cool and like they know what they are doing. Another quality of the catalog commando is that they rarely (if ever) smile when they're picture is being taken. They will stand there attempting to look intimidating with an unconvincing thousand yard stare.

  * e.g.,  ... Firing range safety officer - "Why are you wearing camouflage and body armor to an indoor pistol range? Wait a minute, are you that catalog commando Nutnfancy? Nutnfancy - "Yes." Firing range safety officer - "My god, you're even more pathetic in the flesh. NOW GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY RANGE DOUCHER!!!!!"

1: a subset of social media; a website or web application that allows users to digitally catalog things they care about - music, books, movies, art, food, crafts, DIY, etc. while at the same time sharing their content in an online community

  * e.g.,  ... Ex: Pinterest, GoodReads, Steroemood, FoodGawker, Craftgawker, WeHeartit Emily: I can't get off of Pinterest! This social cataloging site is so cool, look at all of my pinboards. Ashley: Whatever, I'm on goodreads adding books to my digital bookshelf. I'll stick you with a pin if you bother me again. 

 [ "Seed Catalog" ]

1: Porno magazine or Victoria's Secret catalog that you look at while you jerk off to produce your seed.

  * e.g.,  ... I hope the mailman brings a new Seed Catalog today, the pages of my old ones are stuck together.
