1: Arbiter Thel 'Vadam (formerly "Thel 'Vadamee"), often simply referred to as The Arbiter amongst players, was a distinguished Sangheili. At the apogee of his career with the Covenant he served as the Supreme Commander of the Fleet of Particular Justice. However, following the destruction of Installation 04, he was stripped of his rank, and forced to don the ancient armor of Arbiter. He accepted the position of Arbiter to continue his service to the Covenant, even in his disgraced state. The Arbiter is always sent on a suicidal mission to claim great honor in death, so he was not expected to live. However, the Hierarchs (and later the Jiralhanae that the Prophets used to attempt to assassinate the Arbiter) underestimated his skill, and he survived. He, along with the rest of the Sangheili, allied themselves with Humans, after the Gravemind told him of the Halo's true purpose, and was betrayed by his Covenant brethren. He later swore vengeance on The Prophet of Truth.

1: The Arbiter was a "Heretic" Elite blamed for the destruction of the first Halo discovred by the UNSC. An Arbiter is someone who is decides, and enforces and issue. The past Arbiter's of the Covenant have dealt with such situations such as those in campaign mode of Halo (By the way, incase none of you pin-heads noticed, the Arbiter's voice is the same of 'Golaith' from Gargoyales.)

1: The Elite character you play as in the campaign mode of Halo

1: Slang for arbitrary. Originated at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), India. It is now a popular term among engineering graduates all over the country.

  * e.g.,  ...  It was a really arbit question paper. We had no clue whatsoever.

2: Typically used for strange or wierd.

1: An arbiter is much like a Judge, the arbiter has the power to dicide a dispute or how to end one. An arbiter is also person that has the power of deciding

  * e.g.,  ... The arbiter from Halo 2 used the power to end a dispute regarding an uprising of heretics.  

 [ "Arbit" ]

1: An event or personality that doesn't fall under any known pattern.

  * e.g.,  ... He wrote arbit answers and still got marks. 

 [ "Arbiter" ]

1: The most Simpable, and one of the most badass characters in halo. Also known as Thel’Vadam. He sides with Master Chief to beat the crap out of the prophet of truth. Also the Co-op player of Halo

  * e.g.,  ... “Dude, Luigi got a final evolution.” “Really bro?” “Yeah. He’s called the Arbiter. Really cool lizard dude. “

1: When a person of the black or hispanic persuasion starts a fight in a store with employees or other customers to aid and cover the shoplifting efforts of other members of said person's group. Named after the Arbiter aircraft in Starcraft, a ship that makes nearby friendly units invisible.

  * e.g.,  ... Wow, Jose is such an arbiter. I heard that he punched out somebody at Best Buy so his friends could raid the Bargain Bin.

1: The action of slurping the small amount of soda that spills out of the can when one opens it.

  * e.g.,  ... Dangit, Sam, I can't hear the music over your loud arbiting!
