1: The minimum amount you can leave a door open so that a cat can get in and out without pawing at the door, or pushing it wide open. A good guide is usually the width of your hand.

 [ "wrist-width" ]

1: Someone who's arm is the same width as their wrist, all the way to the shoulder.

1: the capacity of the brain to 1) take in or learn any new information or 2) contemplate or think about any ideas or plans.

 [ "Combat Width" ]

1: A term in the WW2 video game: Hearts of Iron IV. Provinces in Hearts of Iron 4 have a ‘size’ that represents the maximum amount of 'fighting' that can be present in that province. at a time.. The amount of 'fighting' possible at a time in each province is called 'Combat Width'.

1: Derogatory phrase to describe an over-weight person, almost always referring to a female.

  * e.g.,  ... Nick's girl was a width-wide bitch, tipping the scales at over two-hundred pounds. 

 [ "fist-width trash-disposal" ]

1: A sneaky "evasive maneuver" technique for free disposal of your garbage in someone else's dumpster that has a locking-bar on it. Since the lids of the dumpster are usually just flexible plastic, however, you can successfully pry them upwards a few inches in the middle, so if you just use ordinary plastic shopping-sacks for bagging your disposables instead of the larger trash-bags, and only fill each bag with a fairly small amount of trash so that they are only as wide as your fist, you can still cram them into the dumpster.

  * e.g.,  ... Practicing fist-width trash-disposal can be a bit tedious/laborious, but it sure beats paying for your own dumpster, plus it eliminates your having to employ the delay/noise-producing strategy of actually removing the dumpster's rear hinge-pin --- and thus risking your getting busted --- just to drop in your bags.
