1: Untoward has a number of different meanings, three of the commonest uses are as follows:- 1 Unexpected and inconvenient;

  * e.g.,  ... 1 The picnic was interrupted by an untoward shower of rain;

2: 2 Inappropriate, improper or unseemly;

  * e.g.,  ... 2 Malcolm’s untoward advances were rewarded with a kick in the nuts;

3: 3 Unfavourable or adverse;

  * e.g.,  ... 3 Some prescription drugs have untoward side effects; 

 [ "untowards" ]

1: Undesirable, immoral

  * e.g.,  ... Maybe you feel guilty about having done untowards. 

 [ "untoward interaction" ]

1: a non-favorable, unruly, difficult or impossible to control interaction with someone you typically have some type of love relationship with, but due to conflicting feelings of both love & hate at the same time, the interaction has the potential to quickly spiral out of control.

  * e.g.,  ... Yeah, so Jane & I were in the parking lot, and the next thing I know, she's freaking out on me over some stupid comment. What an untoward interaction!

1: Nothing unaway from it, either.
