1: A term used by members of the American Negro ethnic group (refered to later in history as colored, African-American, Black, FBA/ADOS) to describe African and/or Caribbean immigrants who move to America for economic opportunity using the benefits of the American Negro Civil Rights struggle while simultaneously disparaging the history, legacy, and lineage of the Negro American movement.

  * e.g.,  ... I don't know why Kuku Kufi is on the news saying African-Americans don't need reperations, he/she is a whole tether. Why are they even in the conversation? Why do they keep saying WE? Yo, that's a whole first generation immigrant.

1: A black person who moved from Africa or the Caribbean to the United States and pretends to be a Black American native to the country. Often they take anti-Black, white supremacist view points despite being black.

  * e.g.,  ... Jafari comes from Ghana, he’s always talking bad about Black Americans, but he wants to appropriate their culture when it’s convenient for him. He’s a tether.

1: On house arrest, usually with a tracking device around one's ankle. Like a horse tethered to a post; you can't go anywhere.

1: The process of connecting your phone to your laptop in order to facilitate an Internet connection. Usually performed via bluetooth or USB.

  * e.g.,  ... John: ah crap I can't get a wifi signal on my laptop. Sorry, I can't look up that obscure Pink Floyd track on discogs.com Bob: dude, one word - tethering. John: dude!

1: 'Tethered' meaning tied or to have a bond with. Usually when there is a strong bond between two entities (can be two objects, two nations or two people) they are tethered and the strength of the bond can pull through anything. Even when the room seems dark, dusty, smelly and the situation looks downcast, the tethered bond can create a glimmer of hope and reverse the dark to light, the dusty to pristine, the smelly to aromatic and the situation from downcast to bright.

  * e.g.,  ... Mother: child, i wish not to discuss the matter any more. we are a little tired of listening to that song of yours Child: but mother, please listen to the A chord i have been practicing so hard. And mum we shared a strong bond remember. Mother: oh dear... of course my love, we are tethered. Please play your delightful instrument. As can be observed the tethered bond between the mother and the child gave a glimmer of hope for the mother to allow her son to play his melodic instrument to her. Similarly a tethered bond between to people can act as a strength for hope and resolve.

2: The tethered bond between two people is the most powerful bond that exists in the world therefore making the glimmer of hope even greater.

1: A African, Caribbean, Black British/Canadian person who copies, imitates and appropriates Black American Culture. So much that you can’t even tell where they are from. Most of them live in America. A lot of them disrespect/envy Black Americans and their culture.
