1: A teacher's dream that allows them to screw around his/or students and not have to teach.

  * e.g.,  ... "Man Mrs. Johnson is such a bitch ever since she got her tenure. Now that mean, old, and ugly bitch can wear short skirts and ass tight low cut shirts that show off her fake tits. Basically, she can do anything besides screwing or killing one her students and have no worries about being fired."

1: a Godless action taken by colleges and universities across America to keep their teachers and professors from leaving their institutions to work elsewhere by guaranteeing their "right to work" for life at the college and/or university of their chosen employment. the reason this is "Godless" is it allows the teachers and professors to teach their own perverted agendas which therefore brainwashes our youth to believe personal lies over generally accepted unalienable truths, that made America great in the first place.

  * e.g.,  ... bill: i hate my political science professor. if i don't believe what he believes, he'll flunk me, and i do not agree with him at all politically. the man's a communist and believes in collective thought. chip: you are stuck with him, my friend, as he has tenure. he can't be fired, so you either need to drop out of his class entirely and find another instructor or be his slave and go with the flow against your own conscience or let him flunk you. isn't America GREAT? 

 [ "Tenuritis" ]

1:  An affliction that disrupts economies of academic production that is most commonly observed amongst academics who have received tenure and give no fucks about 'outcomes', 'metrics' and basically getting any measurable shit done. Not to be confused with laziness or incompetence, or even aloofness; the causes are usually benevolent, but symptoms manifest towards early career researchers that have never known the luxury of free thought. Secondary symptoms can include, 1a. The affliction contributes to bizarre and sometimes non-sensical claims from research data that may, or may not exist, but have to be argued against anyways. 1b. The affliction may create relations where tenured academics end up peer-reviewing their own work through various boards, committees and editorial guidance to ensure their old ideas continue to circulate and are counted towards publication schemes, even if they're not sure what this means.

  * e.g.,  ... "'Did we get that paper in for publication on time?' 'No, prof. x Tenuritis' was acting up so no one gets the publication point'"

1: Something college professors get when they are offered a life-time position at a college.

  * e.g.,  ... I have tenure so I can conduct my class however I want without worry of being fired

2: After having a friendship that has lasted for a long time the friends have a sort of tenure that allows them to say and do things that other people would not be able to, and also exempts them from most consequences.

  * e.g.,  ... Jeff- "I know she was just kidding and I've known her my whole life; she has friend tenure." 

 [ "Tenure Rot" ]

1: A neurological condition found in academic professors with tenure. The lack of intellectual challenge, combined with ~100% job security after receiving tenure, causes their mental faculties to dwindle to the point where they become mentally challenged.

  * e.g.,  ... "Dr. Asshat has a horrible case of tenure rot - he asked me if spinach was a plant yesterday." 

 [ "Tenure rage" ]

1: When a higher status, entitled, "tenured" professor gets angry at, shouts at, or "rages" against those lower in status then him (usually its done by males). Often directed at untenured faculty, secretaries & admin, or PhD students over minor issues or perceived slights to their high status.

  * e.g.,  ... That guy Professor Zuck really tenure raged yesterday at the faculty meeting when someone suggested we have fewer meetings. 

 [ "tenure gap" ]

1: The difference in the overall personalities and classroom behavior between teachers (specifically high school teachers) who have received tenure, and those who have not. For example, a teacher without tenure may be overly cautious in class in order to avoid offending anybody in the slightest, whereas a tenured teacher simply couldn't give a shit.

  * e.g.,  ... Person 1: "Hey, dude, how do you think our chemistry teacher got away with whipping his dick out in class?"

1: A university professor who has reached tenure, but loves giving anyone and everyone a hard time no matter what.
