1: A technician. One who works on the technical aspect of any production. Often work into the wee hours the night before a show opens and still receive little recognition.

  * e.g.,  ... Without techies, we wouldn't have a show.

1: 1: A Person who works Backstage during theatrical performances.

  * e.g.,  ... Don't piss off the Techies or you take your bow in the dark.

2: 2: The People with Headsets and are silently laughing so hard they are crying because of the actors and actresses performance.

  * e.g.,  ... If the set falls down sure it may be our fault, you mess up your lines and don't improvise because of the set falling it's not our fault.

4: 4: Techies (Ninjas) VS Actors (Pirates)

5: Techies are Referred to as Ninjas because they have the talent to vanish when ever the director is yelling at actors, and also must be silent and wear black for their job.

6: Actors are the Pirates cause they need the fans and the photos to continue doing there jobs. Techies do not need the fans or the photos they know they are awesome.

7: 5: The people that have the most fun during play week, and after because they demolish everything!

8: 6: The Stage Manager, Props Manager, Sound Technician, Light Technician, Spot Light Controllers, Scenery movers, and those who fly scenery in and out.

9: 7: Techies are also the people you find sleeping in class or on the floor before play practice.

1: a techie is someone who builds the sets for plays. Also, they run the lights, sound, fly, props, set changes, and bothering the actors. They are known to wear all black and lurk in the darkness of the theater. They put in hours of work for little or no recognition from anyone and can usually be recognized by rather interesting sense of humor.

1:  a person who routinely wears all black and carries around a wrench and flashlight. Many times seen eating pie backstage.

  * e.g.,  ...  If the show works, the actors get credit, if it bombs, blame it on the techies.

1: Someone who is working in the technology sector and appears to be annoyingly down to earth and woke—likes rock climbing, wears athleisure, doesn't drink or smoke, goes to festivals—but who is in actuality a cog in an evil system designed to economically subjugate and displace their respective city's population of non-technology workers (low-income, POC, families, elderly, artists, public workers) by driving up rent prices, buying government officials, co-opting all formerly accessible and relevant cultural events, and straining existing infrastructure through privatization.

  * e.g.,  ... Ex. Techies are turning Seattle into the next San Francisco. If our new neighbors are techies I will scream.

1: A person who loves technology and IT/gamer culture. Loves computers, internet, anime, video games, dance/electronica music, autotune, anything that is on G4TV. Uses myspace/facebook more than just keeping up with their friends. Usually non-conformists because they are spending their money on cool gadgets than clothes and makeup.

  * e.g.,  ... Bob is a techie. He has the latest gadgets and he knows how to fix and program them too.

2:  A person who is an IT professional or is in a computer science or IT major in college.

1: Euphemism for geek, usually used by geeks themselves
