1: unwillingness, not willing to do something.

  * e.g.,  ... The mother's reluctance to let her son attend the concert stemmed from a fear of peer pressure. 

 [ "Reluctant" ]

1: unwilling and hesitant; disinclined.

  * e.g.,  ... "today, many ordinary people are still reluctant to talk about politics" 

 [ "reluctancy" ]

1: The quality of being reluctant. Exactly the same as "reluctance" but for use in meetings and conference calls.

  * e.g.,  ... We need to eliminate reluctancy from our usership. 

 [ "Reluctant" ]

1: The strong urge to not do whatever you had planned (or what had been planned for you) with or without valid reasoning. Often fails to prevent the occurrence of said plans.

  * e.g.,  ... Creep: "I has candy get in van." 

 [ "Reluctant Ninja" ]

1: Bad ass Ninja dude born and bread with a destiny to effortlessly kill at will. The only problem is...that he'd rather grow shrubbery and collect retro talking action figures with exotic accents.

  * e.g.,  ... Client: Hey Ninja! Will ya carry out that assasination I'm paying ya for already! Reluctant Ninja: (Sighs) Hold yer horses! Can't you see I've still got more shrubbery to shrub here!! 

 [ "Reluctance Length" ]

1: The specific length of a persons beard (or hair) which makes them reluctant to cut it off as they have never experienced such a length. Or, because they feel that their beard has become important to them, like it's their child. Note: Often occurs in teenagers and young adults who are notoriously shit at growing beards and tend to cling desperately to any facial hair they can muster.

  * e.g.,  ... Ben: Man, your beard is disgusting! 

 [ "castration reluctance" ]

1:  as used in genitourinary oncology, resistance to the recommendation that orchiectomy, that is, removal of one or both testicles, be performed as a preventative measure, to prevent the metastasization of cancer.

  * e.g.,  ... After explaining to the patient that an orchidectomy could save his life, the patient showed signs of castration reluctance. 

 [ "Reluctant Boner" ]

1: A sudden, uncontrollable erection , that mysteriously springs up at the most innappropriate times imaginable. Such as; during job interviews for teaching pisitions, while testifying in front of a jury when your looking at life in prison, during political debates when your running for office, on your wedding night dancing with all your in laws but not when you dance with your wife, and when meeting your girlfriends five year old Bruce for the first time. Often , medical intervention is necassary, and you probably will need to retain a lawyer as most people report reluctant boners as sexual assaults. These are highly embarrassing erections , and can sometimes be fatal. Be prepared to leave town, as trying to explain a reluctant boner just makes it worse.

1: Heraldic device, symbolising unwillingness to engage in sexual acts.
