 [ "meants" ]

1: A compound of the word meant and means. It is used to refer to the specific feeling a person has when he or she is reminded of an event, place, person, word, or thing that at one point in the past was perceived to have overbearing significance on future events, but in retrospect, had little to no impact, negative or positive, on the person's present situation.

  * e.g.,  ... Nick - I heard that the high school student body president election was rigged when we were 1 Damien - So? Nick - Well at the time it meant a lot to me. I really wanted to put that on to my application to Yale; I thought not having it would prevent me from getting accepted. Damien - You still got in, didn't you? It doesn't mean anything to you now. It's meants. Nick - Yeah... I guess you are right.

1:  A term reflecting the excessive amount of spin, misdirection, butt-covering, and massaged statistics that come from our elected officials. Recognized by the fact that a spinmeister must "clarify" what a politician meant whenever he sticks his foot deep into his mouth.

  * e.g.,  ... VeeP Biden: "Swine flu? I wouldn't go anywhere in confined spaces." Staff: "What the VeeP meant to say was..." Another fine example of govern-meant.

1: A saying in which is mostly used by traitors, revealing that they are a traitor.

 [ "everything is meant to be" ]

1: acknowledge the reality presented, particularly a reality that is outside a person's control or that person's fault

  * e.g.,  ... I like to say "everything is meant to be" when something shitty happens or when I fuck up so that I accept reality and move on.
