They’re are animate and inanimate objects. Inanimate objects fall into two categories: sentient and non-sentient. Non-sentient is like a dog which you can own. Sentient would be your wife. The difference between the degree of mutual ownership between a man and a woman (in the context of a relationship) can be split into categories. You have verbally contractual mutual ownership (girlfriend). Next, you have state sanctioned, written contractual, mutual ownership (marriage)
