1: British synth-pop duo by keyboardist/composer Vince Clarke (ex Depeche Mode) and singer Andy Bell Their "I Love To Hate You" was big hit in 1991-1992, especially in LGBT community

 [ "Erasure" ]

1: English pop duo, popular back in the late 80's and early ninties. Wrote great songs, with Vince Clark's innovative use of synthesised sounds and samples creating a varied and exciting back drop for the singer Andy Bell, who is an amazing vocalist. The songs are all classics, but unfortunatly, that meant we had to put up with those tossers wheatus covering "A little respect" and absolutley butchering it.

1: Bisexual erasure is the tendency to ignore, remove, falsify, or reexplain evidence of bisexuality in history, academia, the news media, and other primary sources. In its most extreme form, bisexual erasure can include denying that bisexuality exists.

  * e.g.,  ... "Straight, gay or Lying" 

 [ "transgender erasure" ]

1: Intentionally calling a transgender person by the wrong pronouns in an attempt to "keep them from transitioning."

  * e.g.,  ... Mom: I wont call you a girl because you'll always be my little boy. Transgender Daughter: That's just transgender erasure and it just makes things worse. 

 [ "cultural erasure" ]

1: When the dominant culture forces a minority to adopt to a dominant culture (revisionist history, customs, mannerisms, traditions, pedagogy, attire, names, language, history, religion, etc). The dominant forces in the culture may also force the minority into an economic system in which all but a few in a minority group is exploited and for which the the dominant leaders have inherent disadvantages.

  * e.g.,  ... The authorities assured us that cultural erasure was a myth and that the minorities cultural practice of living in tight close knit compounds only coincidentally looked like forced labor work camps because of the security towers The authorities noted that these primitive people preferred being assimilated in the dominant culture because it gave them unlimited opportunities to work, and an extreme sense of security. 

 [ "West Virginia erasure" ]

1: noun phrase the tendency to ignore, remove, falsify, or re-explain favorable claims or information pertaining to the U.S. state of West Virginia in history, academia, the news media, etc. In its most extreme form, WV erasure can include the belief that WV itself does not exist.

  * e.g.,  ... Karen: Based on the geographical references in the lyrics, like "Blue Ridge Mountains" and "Shenandoah River", many have argued that John Denver shortened “western Virginia” to “west Virginia” (lowercase ‘w’) because the extra syllable would have disrupted the cadence. Plus, the actual road that inspired the song initially is Clopper Road in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Ava: Please, miss me with that West Virginia erasure bull shit! If you consider the lyrics, "miner's lady" and "stranger to blue water", the song "Country Roads" is clearly referring to the state of West Virginia. To this day, WV is 2nd only to WY in coal production. There are coal mines in VA but it's negligible compared to WV and other states. Most notably is the fact that WV is a landlocked state but VA is not. VA has a long Atlantic Ocean coastline, whereas, WV does not border any ocean. WV has plenty of rivers and lakes so, when you hear, "blue water", this is clearly in reference to ocean water.
