1: Able to convert one's thoughts and emotions into words. Those who are articulate can use large, 'higher-level' words in their sentences without making a conscious effort to do so.

  * e.g.,  ... Just because somebody types without proper grammar doesn't make them inarticulate; after all, why does it matter whether or not you waste your time trying to add proper punctuation.

1: The way in which someone speaks. If they have bad articulation, it is generally thought that this person is an imbecile. If they articulate themselves well, you may continue to converse with them.

  * e.g.,  ... Bad articulation: "Like, I love the way that the colours in the sky are like totally pretty. I wonder if that's because of the atmosphere or some shit."

1: (adj) Well-spoken, possessing a talent for lucid and effortless speech. A secret racial slur against blacks. When a black person delivers an impressive speech, interview, or story and is complimented as articulate, their temper will boil on sight. The tenuous implication being, you were surprised they could even speak.

  * e.g.,  ... "...and those are the biggest ways Aristotle differed from Plato's teaching." "I have to agree, that was quite an articulate discourse" "WHAT YOU TALKIN BOUT KRACKA??"

1: (a) a term largely used by white beer sluts.

  * e.g.,  ... "yesterday i was eating a late dinner with a group of people and one guy's girlfriend started telling a story about her friend's boyfriend. she referred to him as "this really articulate black guy" when she first introduced him in the story, and she called him articulate four more times before she was done. it was embarrassing enough on its own, but there were two black guys at the table."

1: When talking about urban vinyl (designer toys), articulations are joints (movable arms, legs, head, ...).

  * e.g.,  ... Baby Balls is my favorite toy of the line. This guy has a style that I can relate to. He has three points of articulation and comes with a bottle of cheap beer that is always full.

1: A big word that fills space in a sentence when one doesn't really know what he or she is talking about, i.e. an excuse for sounding dumb when trying to sound smart. Heard most often in art schools or cinema study classes.

  * e.g.,  ... I think Herzog's last film was... well the direction was... I don't know if I can articulate this well... I may not articulate this well, but the piece says so much by saying so little.

1: 4 in the front, 16 in the back. Fingers and toes, and knees if you get that far.

  * e.g.,  ... "Where's Rebecca?" "She's in the hospital, I gave her an articulated truck last night" 

 [ "Premature Articulation" ]

1: When someone interrupts you while you are talking but what they have to say has nothing to do with what you were talking about. Someone who talks out of turn.

  * e.g.,  ... ME: My boss fired me the other day because I kept interrupting him when he was trying to tell me what to do. YOU: Sounds like you suffer from Premature Articulation.

1: The process of selecting the words which will best express one's thoughts and/or emotions, ordering and reordering those words in one's head, writing them down.

  * e.g.,  ... Unable to, as usual, easily put an idea she 'felt' into words, Serenata applied 'articulation mechanics' by selecting the words that best expressed her idea, ordering and reordering them in her head, and writing them in a notebook. She called that mental and physical process articulation mechanics.
