1: To most of us, Appliance means a large electronic device used in the home. Appliances include refrigerators, washers, driers, ranges, ovens, and any other product designed to make life easier. In the Dental world, an appliance is a device placed in a patient's mouth designed to correct the oral area. There are hundreds of dental appliances designed to do many things to the size of the mouth and the way it aligns with the upper and lower jaw.

  * e.g.,  ...  I went to Best Buy to buy a GE washer. I also got the GE drier since it was on special. I am very satisfied with the efficiency of my new appliances. Samantha went to the orthodontist today and was told the bad news that she would wear an appliance for 2 1/2 years. The appliance was to align her lower jaw with her upper jaw and create the perfect bite. Samantha was very traumatized from the social stigma received from the appliance as it caused her to lisp. She also had to deal with the pain of the appliance. It was not a fun experience for Samantha.

 [ "appliance car" ]

1: An appliance car is generally a car that's only made for one thing: to get you from A to B as cheaply as possible and without any trouble. In other words to get the job done. Often, they are compared to appliances such as washing machines and microwaves. More than often you have problems finding them in the lot after your Wall-Mart adventures because of their total lack of style and presence. Though, they might come in a variety of colors, they are still beige. Beige in a way that they lack anything to be desired and beige in a way everything is beige at your grandparents' house. People who drive them usually say they are trying to be "green" and they are doing their part in saving the planet, but the statement they are making is basically that they are too cheap to pay for fuel and that they don't really care about anything that's exciting in any way. Usually you find these people in these beige cars driving under the speed limit on the left lanes of the interstate right next to a semi clogging up traffic, totally oblivious of any fucking thing around them. At the same time you are 2 feet behind them riding their ass and flashing your lights and raging in desperation that they will merge right. But instead, you are a moron too for not realizing that these people are FUCKING DUMB and use their rear view mirror exclusively while waiting for the light to turn green, while they pop zits and pick their nose.

 [ "Appliance Farm" ]

1: An overgrown former Montessori preschool now littered with rusty appliances tucked within Park Place Apartments located across the street from the Santa Ana Zoo. Residents living on the Southwest side of the Farm not only enjoy the beautiful view of this rusted masterpiece (a modern-marvel of sorts)to the north, but also have the privilege to watch the sun set over the shanty-tarp town to the south.

 [ "Driving Appliance" ]

1: A vehicle that is void of any passion and is simply a means of getting from Point A to Point B. These vehicles have no soul or charisma and are as boring as a Kenmore refrigerator. Driving Appliances include, but are not limited to Toyota's, Hyundai's, Kia's, as well as some Honda's, Buick's, and Mercury's. Basically any car that penny pincher's or grandmas drive fall under this umbrella.

  * e.g.,  ... That BMW is sweet! So much thought and care given to the small details. It sure beats that Driving Appliance of a Corolla my aunt drives. 

 [ "Herbst Appliance" ]

1: A Ortandontal appliance, newer version of headgear. Contains 2 rods (bottom) that go into 2 sockets (top) that help grow the jaw out to prevent/reduce/exterminate overbite.

  * e.g.,  ... He needs a herbst appliance for his jaw to grow out 

 [ "anal grip appliance" ]

1: The art of applying your brand spanking new cricket bat grip with your anal sphincter. Always useful to have a deep anal cavity and advised not to apply white grips, due to an increased risk of staining.

 [ "latent appliance fetishist" ]

1: A person who refuses to admit to his or herself that sexual gratification can only be achieved through the use of machines. Get the picture?
