1: Term given to the environmental phenomenon occurring at Oak Street Beach in Chicago, Illinois where at sunset the non-black beach patrons leave and are quickly replaced by black beach goers. The transition is subtle and, yet, profound. Occurs almost within 10 minutes of sunset with surprising accuracy.

  * e.g.,  ... The flip: "It's getting near 7pm and the sun's about to set, we should probably get going home" Trojan: "Yeah, I've noticed the sundowning already" The flip: "dude, the sun hasn't set yet" Trojan: "I know, but its already getting a little dark outside"
