1:  To say somthing about somebody or somthing in a negative way sometimes in a joke, also known as a cut down.

  * e.g.,  ... I cant believe she put him down like that.

1: To kill an animal 'humanly' because they are too old or too ill. We are also totally bullshitting ourselves when we say "There's nothing we can do", "It's in too much pain", or "It'll be better off this way", especially since humans in the same conditions go to nursing homes, hostpitals, get a private nurse, wheel chairs, a ton of meds, and no one ever says "There's nothing we can do, we have to put down Grandma."

  * e.g.,  ... Grandpa: The dog's fourteen, and he can't move around anymore, we gotta get him put down. Grandchild: But why, Grandpa? Grandpa: Blame the society, not the executioner, sweetie.

1: To get jumped into a gang in an initiation

  * e.g.,  ... Yo, my homie got put down for Piru the other day.

1: To force love on someone ; to have / claim dominance over someone that might take you for-granted

  * e.g.,  ... She always left with no trace like she does every man that has the ability to love her , until he PUT DOWN , now she ain’t going nowhere!

1: the opposite of putting up with someone

  * e.g.,  ... R; "I, thanks for putting up with me" I: "R, no, I don't 'put up' with you, I am putting down with you" 

 [ "to put downs" ]

1: to make it known that someone is your girlfriend/boyfriend or in a relationship with you whether it be official or unofficial.

  * e.g.,  ... Ramon: Oh! look at that breezy over there! I'm gonna go holla at her. 

 [ "Put down the Sharpie" ]

1: A request to someone to admit they are wrong. In reference to Donald Trump's infamous Sharpie mark-up of an outdated hurricane forecast map. Rather than apologize, Trump continued to lie about the hurricane risk to Alabama for days.

  * e.g.,  ... "Dude, just put down the Sharpie. You don't always have to be right. I'm sick of arguing about this." 

 [ "put down a three" ]

1: Put down a three (3) to masturbate. the third type of male body excretion. to go number one is to pee. number 2 is to poop. so number three is to release semen from a dude's body. a person can't "go number three" because, unlike a deuce, it can't just be pushed out of the body. Hence it has to be "put down".

  * e.g.,  ... "I was going to return your call, but I was busy putting down a three." "This video game is so awesome, it makes me want to put down a three." "That guy Rick is such a loser, I bet he puts down a lot of threes," 

 [ "put down to sleep" ]

1: A word or phrase people think of to avoid the truth, that "putting someone/thing down to sleep" is simply killing.

  * e.g.,  ... I guess we have to ki-- *cough* I mean, put our dog down to sleep, cuz it has SARS.

2: "Put down to sleep" is almost always used in the meaning of giving a pet animal a shot which will kill them, in order to put it out of its misery of a fatal sickness.
