1: A term used by older people in Maine for a dresser

  * e.g.,  ... My bra is in the top drawer of the bureau. 

 [ "The Adjustment Bureau" ]

1: A synonym for a male hand because of it's tendency to find its way down a male's pants in order to adjust the position of the penis and scrotum.

  * e.g.,  ... Since I am at a formal party i will go to the bathroom in order to use The Adjustment Bureau to make my privates more comfortable 

 [ "Going to the Bureau" ]

1: Leaving your office early, under the pretense that you're traveling to another facility ("the bureau") to continue working.....when in reality, you're leaving to go home; presumably to eat cake and admire your front butt.

  * e.g.,  ... Ed: Are you going with us to Starbucks today at 2:30? Mark: No, I'm going to the bureau here in a little bit. I've got a lot of work to catch up on. Ed: Right. (Makes Air Jerk motion) 

 [ "credit bureau" ]

1: An organization that specializes in providing damaging information on citizens to employers, banks, credit card companies and prospective spouses. The information doesn't have to be true, or even the same person as listed with them.

  * e.g.,  ... He couldn't get a wife or buy a house because the credit bureau had told the banks he had bad credit and ruined his reputation. 

 [ "Bureau of Morality" ]

1: A fictional organization from the alternate reality game to the Nine Inch Nails Album Year Zero. The purpose of the Bureau is to keep citizens in line and make sure they aren't doing anything they consider "un-american" such as expressing dissapointment with the government. Extreme punishments are handed down to people who do break their laws and use their voice.

  * e.g.,  ... Our schoolboard's really become the Bureau of Morality, it sucks! 

 [ "Adjustment Bureau" ]

1: They monitor the entire universe and make sure everyones lives go according to a predetermined plan. When someone does something that was not predetermined they warn them of the dangers and try to convince them to not go off the predetermined life, for unforseen consequences will unravel if they do.

  * e.g.,  ... The Adjustment Bureau control everything but I will not let them control my life. I will fight for my free will! 

 [ "bureau disease" ]

1: fat, overweight, beer gut

  * e.g.,  ... He's got bureau disease...It looks like his chest fell into his drawers.

1: The original BLM

  * e.g.,  ... Did you know the Bureau of Land Management was established in 1946? And it’s responsible for administering federal lands.

 [ "Better Business Bureau" ]

1: An abstraction, or a layer of complexity, formulated by businesses, by which to channel the angst of their customers into endless bureaucratic processes with no other purpose than to make the aggrieved customers go away.

  * e.g.,  ... Filing a complaint with the better business bureau sure was a waste of time.
