1: When a pop star is gay, management will give them a girlfriend to hide it. This is called a beard. It is usually referred to in a jokingly manor.

1: The practice of reality TV pseudo-celebs, primarily on the Discovery Channel, using product in their beards to give the appearance of a long, hard, straight beard, resembling the male mammal penile erection in appearance.

  * e.g.,  ... Neil: "Did you catch all those beard-ons on Discovery last night?" Bob: "I know, right? It's like they won't give you a show unless you're a visable douche..."

1: The significant other of a person who is gay... BUT they are of the opposite sex. A beard is used to make the world think the gay partner is straight. Sometimes the beard knows they're a beard, and sometimes they're being deceived.

1: Any opposite sex escort taken to an event in an effort to give a homosexaul person the apperance of being out on a date with a person of the opposite sex.

  * e.g.,  ... Half of the women on the red carpet at the movie premier were not real dates, but beards.

1: An act that someone gay does when afraid to come out of the closet. usually this means dating a girl when you like guys just to coverup.

  * e.g.,  ... Person: that guys so bearding **guy walks down hall with girl but checks out a guy**

1: A boss ass beard that is grown by I.T professionals

  * e.g.,  ... Wow check out that guys IT beard, he must know what the fuck he's doing.

1: a man or woman used as a cover for a gay partner

  * e.g.,  ... poor Jenny, she has no idea that she's been Allen's beard for the past 5 years

1: working as someone's beard (a person which pretends to be together with someone who is gay)
